My local green grocer has been stocking Wildings Pantry for quite some time and it is always a regular item on my shopping list, especially the Middle Eastern Z’aatar! But recently I bumped into Wildings Pantry at the Little Creatures market and had a lovely chat with them. They were more than helpful in assisting me to choose which blends I was going to purchase and the best thing was there was multiple choices!!
I’m going to run through a few of my favourites from Wildings, starting with probably my favourite ‘Middle Eastern Z’aatar’. This blend is really versatile, I use it in so many dishes and it adds tonnes of flavour! You may have seen me post on instagram previously where I have used this blend. Its great for coating most types of meat either to grill and have with sides or maybe to add to a salad. Its also great for sprinkling on pizza to add extra flavour or tossing through your roast vegetables, my favourite here would probably be tossed with roast pumpkin!
Next there is the ‘Sesame & Coriander Dukkah’. I used this recently to marinate some chicken drumsticks before grilling them on the BBQ (I’ll post the recipe for this in the coming days). This blend is also great served with a spelt sourdough and a top quality olive oil for dipping and makes an easy starter or afternoon snack. Coriander has become a favourite flavour of mine over the past few years so its no wonder this is at the top of my list!
The third blend for review is the ‘Vietnamese Jungle Salt’ which is also great for coating meat. My most recent creation with this blend was a guacamole where I sprinkled the salt over it at the end, it really helped to make up for the lack of red onion that you usually see in a guacamole. Ill post the recipe for this soon also!
All three blends are really quite versatile and allow you to have a variety of flavours available for instant yum factor! And not to mention, they are all gluten free! Wildings have not asked me to review their products, I have done this simply because I love their products! Check out the Wildings Pantry website to see where a stockists might be near you, there are plenty Australia wide. I’ll bet you’ll love them too!
